Who, me?
I was born in Helsinki, Finland in the late 60′s as the third child of a very ordinary Finnish family. My family wasn’t any more religious than any other family, but I think that nevertheless God was speaking to me already when I was a kid. Some time after I had given my life to Jesus my sister saw a picture of me as a baby, sitting with my hands crossed like for prayer. My sister said very bluntly: “Yes, eija was always like that.”
Today I live in a small town at the south coast of Finland. I have two daughters and a very Finnish husband, who gave me a very Swedish last name when we got married. Our two little rascals Pepe and Moriz – Petit Brabancons, or Smooth Brussels Griffons – together with the girls make sure that we don’t have a single day without some kind of action in the house.
I belong to the Evangelical Free Church of Finland. My local church is only a small bunch of God’s people, so everyone does pretty much everything. My main tasks at the moment are the church websites and playing my flute in the services.
My older daughter drew the picture (above) of me when she was 8 years old. The resemblance is remarkable! She also drew my profile picture (the one at the sidebar), at the age of ten. Needless to say, I spend a lot of time behind the camera!
I’ve been blogging since 9th February, 2005. This blog is a brand new start and all old blogs and their posts are history. It makes me very glad if you decide to join me in this journey. Please don’t hesitate to leave a comment too. Or if you prefer an e-mail, use the contact form:
